The Reality of Viddhakarma 📌📍 & Marma Chikitsa(?) ! Intellectual Robbery of Acupuncture & Varma Chikitsa in Siddha!
Presented/spread in the interest of all patients, well-wishers of Ayurveda, students, and young Vaidyas!!!
In the "Ashtavidha Shastra Karma" (eight types of surgical procedures) mentioned by Sushruta, there are words like "Vyadha" or "Vedhan"... however, these are in the context of "Siravedha," meaning as a type of "Raktamokshana" (bloodletting). But apart from Siravyadha, the word "Viddha" is not mentioned anywhere else as a form of treatment. The word "Viddha" has appeared in the context of certain procedures in Marma, Srotas, Karna (ear), and Drushti (vision) diseases.
However, today, based on popularity and crowd/throng, the way a fake narrative is being created, and for that, from top Ayurveda institutes to presentations happening in general-level seminars or colleges—everywhere—people are running behind this, becoming crazy! This is a matter of surprise, but also of misfortune!
In reality, what is considered today in the field of Ayurveda as a means of gaining popularity and gathering a crowd by the name of "Viddha Karma"... that is, in reality, a theft, robbery, and loot committed at an intellectual level! There is another science named Acupuncture; because only BAMS degree holders are practicing it, it is being given a local name and established as Viddha Karma in Ayurveda through Goebbels’ theory, by repeatedly telling lies.
It may be true that the results of what is done in the field of Ayurveda today in the name of Viddha Karma are good... but there are results and people with BAMS degrees perform it; that does not mean that Viddha Karma—which has been brought here by dragging it, by stealing, looting, and committing dacoity of the science of Acupuncture = "Intellectual Robbery"—is Ayurveda!
I have no objection to anyone’s popularity or their skill in gathering a crowd.
But while doing that, “in the name of Ayurveda science,” committing intellectual theft = Intellectual Robbery of another science, and using it on patients boldly in an unethical, non-ethical, and non-moral manner in broad daylight... this is an extremely improper, prohibited, censurable, contemptible, and rejectable tendency!
I have no opposition to any individual...
But I am an extreme opponent of this tendency of "selling" a method of another science, which was never in the Ayurveda science, "in the name of Ayurveda."
To commit this kind of "Intellectual Robbery" is, in my view, a hypocrisy (Pakhanda), and it is the exploitation and misleading of the patient who is our breadwinner (Annadata)... so such unethical things should not be done... and if someone is doing it, then the competent authority/competent institution/Regulatory Authority should put a ban/restriction/BAN on it...
However, instead of this happening, due to the pressure of popularity and the crowd, the top institutes of the Ayurveda field and their experienced and senior heads are dancing with this Viddha Karma on their heads... seeing this, we have completely failed in our "loyalty" toward the science and "thinking" from the perspective of the science, and we have nothing to do with the science... we don't want to "think" anything for the science! ... We want to "sell" every "thing" that "makes money" in the name of Ayurveda, "by any means possible"!
I condemn this "selling," "business-minded," and "selfish" tendency in the strongest possible words.
And the tendency of "selling" the skills or methods of other sciences in the name of Ayurveda is not only about this Viddha Karma... rather, this tendency is also regarding popular things like Yoga, Rasashastra, and Nadi... which have no connection—not even distantly—with the original Samhitas of Ayurveda, its principles, clinical examination methods, or the principles of Bhaishajya Kalpana!
A therapy by the name of Marma Chikitsa is also run in the field of Ayurveda "in the name of Ayurveda"... but that is actually inspired by the "Varma" therapy of the "Siddha" branch of Ayush! In Ayurveda, the number of Marma is only 107! In this Siddha system, the "Varma" number is 108... or according to various references in the Siddha system, the Varma number (not Marma) is 251, 500, or 8000, which is much more than the Marmas mentioned in Ayurveda.
The classification of these Varmas in the Siddha system is also very different from the Ayurveda Marma classification!
In Ayurveda, Marma is mentioned only for diagnosis (Nidana)! The use of Marma as a treatment (Chikitsa) is not mentioned anywhere in the Ayurveda science at all.
By again committing Intellectual Robbery = intellectual theft from the other medical system named Siddha, these things are run in the name of Marma therapy. This is similarly an unethical, non-moral, and unethical tendency!
Varma or Marma therapy is possibly a corrupted form, copy, imitation, or mockery of Acupressure itself.
One does not even know how to study one's own Ayurveda science... because it is not understood, because the original Sanskrit Samhitas, commentaries, and original Ayurveda science do not enter anyone's head... therefore, after taking a BAMS degree, in the name of Ayurveda, "marketing" and "selling" things of any other science "only to make money" and "by making fools of people" is an extremely censurable, rejectable, prohibited, and contemptible tendency.
The scientific validity of any thing is not determined by its popularity or its crowd-pulling capacity... scientific validity is determined by whether it is consistent with the principles of that science or not! Determining the scientific validity of something based on the majority is not as simple as democracy!
Scientific validity is decided on principles, not on popularity and crowds... Be careful!
